Girlfriend Found Dead, Partner Arrested

A 40-year-old man has been arrested in Senwabarwana after his girlfriend was found dead following an alleged domestic dispute in Windhoek Village during the early hours of Monday, 24 November 2025.

According to police reports, the deceased — a 36-year-old woman from Springfield — was involved in a heated altercation with her partner on Sunday evening at around 8pm. The argument reportedly escalated into a physical fight inside their room and continued well into the night.

At approximately 4am, the suspect allegedly informed his younger sister that his girlfriend was no longer responding. The pair returned to the room, where they reportedly found the woman lying motionless on the floor with visible bruises on her face and bloodstains nearby.

The man then fled to a nearby mountain. Police were alerted and, upon arrival, found the victim covered with a duvet. Emergency Medical Services were summoned, and the woman was declared dead at the scene.

A search operation was immediately launched, leading to the suspect’s arrest while he was hiding in the mountain area.

The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, strongly condemned the incident and urged community members to seek help when facing conflict in relationships. She emphasised that acts of domestic violence continue to devastate families and communities.

The suspect is expected to appear in the Senwabarwana Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 26 November 2025, facing a charge of murder. Police investigations remain under way.
