Musician Arrested for Attempted Murder in Polokwane

A 30-year-old musician was arrested in Bendor, outside Polokwane, on Wednesday in connection with two counts of attempted murder.

According to the South African Police Service, the charges stem from a road rage incident that took place last month. The suspect allegedly fired several shots at another motorist during the altercation.

Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba confirmed that the victim, a 34-year-old man, sustained injuries and was rushed to the hospital for medical treatment.

“During the operation, police seized the suspect’s vehicles for forensic analysis as part of ongoing investigations,” said Ledwaba.

The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant-General Thembi Hadebe, commended the investigation and operational teams for their swift and meticulous work.

“She reiterated that no one is above the law, regardless of social standing,” added Ledwaba.

The suspect is expected to appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.
