Police in Motetema, under the Sekhukhune District, have launched an urgent manhunt for a suspect following a shooting incident that occurred at Tafelkop, Mashitaneng, on Saturday night, 8 November 2025, at around 23:30.

According to preliminary reports, an 18-year-old man was walking along the street with a friend when they encountered a suspect known to them. Without warning, the suspect allegedly drew a firearm and fired several shots in their direction. The two young men ran for safety, but the victim collapsed after realising he had been shot.

The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has condemned the shooting in the strongest terms and instructed investigators to ensure that the suspect is swiftly brought to justice.

“Acts of violence such as this will not be tolerated. We are determined to ensure that those responsible face the full might of the law,” said Lieutenant General Hadebe.
