October 9, 2025The South African Police Service in Limpopo has launched a manhunt following the tragic murder of an 18-year-old in Ga-Phasha Molawetse Village, near Burgersfort.
The incident occurred on Sunday, 5 October 2025, at around 05:30, when the victim, accompanied by a friend, was confronted by two men. According to reports, the confrontation stemmed from allegations that the teenager had shown disrespect to others in the community.
During the altercation, one of the suspects, who was reportedly visiting the village, allegedly drew a knife and stabbed the teenager in the upper body. The young man was rushed to a local clinic before being transferred to Mankweng Hospital. Despite medical intervention, he succumbed to his injuries on Tuesday, 7 October 2025.
Provincial police spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, confirmed that a case of murder has been opened. The suspect has already been identified, but remains at large. Police have urged members of the public to come forward with any information that could assist in the arrest.
