One School, Two Principals: Alfred Matshine Caught in Leadership Dispute

Leadership uncertainty continues to plague Alfred Matshine Combined School in Casteel Village where two acting principals are reportedly running the school under competing forms of recognition.

The ongoing leadership dispute has left the school caught between two acting principals. Mr Mmola is recognised by the district office, while Mr Malope is reportedly recognised by the School Governing Body (SGB).

It is alleged that the district office has since suspended Malope on full pay, leaving Mmola in charge of the school.

The dispute follows the departure of former principal Mr Bukhosini, with the school reportedly struggling to secure the appointment of a permanent principal.

Malope has also allegedly been barred from communicating with the SGB during his suspension, further deepening tensions around the school's leadership.

The situation has raised concerns about governance, authority and stability at a school regarded as a favourite in the Casteel community.

With the leadership battle continuing, questions remain over who is ultimately responsible for running Alfred Matshine Combined School and when a permanent principal will be appointed.
