Two Arrested in Connection with Hazyview Mall Cash-in-Transit Robbery

Two suspects, aged 32 and 38, have been arrested in connection with a cash-in-transit robbery at Hazyview Mall in Mpumalanga.

The pair were arrested by the Hawks during the early hours of Friday, 25 September, following an intelligence-driven operation conducted in Marite and Mkhuhlu.

Investigators also seized a vehicle believed to have been used as a getaway car after it was found parked outside one of the suspects’ premises.

The robbery occurred on 19 September, when an undisclosed amount of cash was taken. A security officer was also injured during the incident.

The suspects are expected to appear in court once the necessary administrative processes have been completed.

The Hawks said the investigation is ongoing and that further arrests have not been ruled out.
