A 41-year-old man is expected to appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 11 February 2026, following his arrest for the alleged dealing and possession of drugs in the Polokwane Central Business District (CBD).
According to the South African Police Service (SAPS) in Limpopo, the suspect was arrested on Tuesday, 10 February 2026, by members of the Provincial Organised Crime Narcotics Unit.
Police said they received intelligence about a suspicious motor vehicle believed to be transporting and trading drugs in the city. The information was operationalised, leading officers to identify a Volkswagen Polo matching the description in the CBD. The vehicle was stopped and searched.
During the search, police found a plastic bag containing various suspected drugs, including CAT and crystal meth. The substances are estimated to have a street value of approximately R50 000.
The suspect was immediately arrested and charged with possession of and dealing in drugs.
Police confirmed that the case will be heard in the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday.
SAPS Limpopo spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, said the arrest forms part of ongoing efforts to combat drug-related crime in the province.
Investigations are continuing.
