July 23, 2026Minister of Public Works and Infrastructure, Dean Macpherson, is today launching the Limpopo rollout of the Working on Infrastructure Programme under the Expanded Public Works Programme (EPWP) in Burgersfort, within the Fetakgomo-Tubatse Local Municipality.
The initiative forms part of the Department’s efforts to transform the EPWP by eliminating corruption and abuse while creating meaningful pathways to permanent employment for participants.
Minister Macpherson has previously committed to reforming the programme to ensure it not only provides temporary work opportunities but also equips participants with the skills and experience needed to secure long-term employment.
He is joined at the launch by Limpopo MEC for Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure, Tonny Ernest Rachoene, and the Queen Regent of the Bapedi Kingdom, Queen Manyaku Thulare.
The launch is taking place at the Moses Mabotha Community Hall in Ga-Nkoana Village, Fetakgomo-Tubatse Local Municipality, with proceedings scheduled to begin at 10:40. The event brings together government leaders, community members and stakeholders to mark the expansion of the programme in Limpopo.
