Premier Inspects Newly Completed Morebeng Road Section

Premier Dr Phophi Ramathuba recently visited Morebeng to inspect the latest progress on the long-awaited Morebeng-Sekgosese road. The contractor has now completed 3 km of the 3,5 km section they were appointed to work on, bringing the total completed portion of the 32,5 km road closer to completion.

The 32,5 km stretch from Morebeng had previously seen only 29 km completed, with the remaining section stalled for some time. Premier Ramathuba intervened in July 2024 to ensure the project was back on track.

During the inspection, the Premier was joined by MEC for Limpopo Department of Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure, Mr Ernest Rachoene; Mayor of Greater Letaba Municipality, Cllr Dagma Mamanyoha; and Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Public Works, Roads and Infrastructure in the Limpopo Legislature, Mr Khathutshelo Netshifhefhe. The officials walked along the newly completed 3 km portion of the Morebeng-Sekgosese road, which marks a significant step towards completing the entire 32 km route.

Premier Ramathuba expressed satisfaction with the progress and reiterated the provincial government’s commitment to improving infrastructure to boost economic development and ensure safer travel for residents.

The completion of this section is expected to ease travel, enhance connectivity for local communities, and pave the way for the remaining kilometres of the road to be finished in the coming months.
