November 14, 2025A 32-year-old foreign national has been arrested at the Groblersbridge Port of Entry for possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle.
According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), the suspect was apprehended shortly after arriving at the vehicle checkpoint while driving a white Toyota Hilux GD6. It is alleged that he was attempting to smuggle the vehicle into Botswana.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the vehicle had been reported stolen last month (October) at the Olivenhoutbosch Police Station in Pretoria.
The suspect was immediately taken into custody and will soon appear before the Lephalale Magistrate’s Court on a charge of possession of a suspected stolen motor vehicle.
The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, commended the Groblersbridge police team for their vigilance and swift action which led to the arrest.
Police investigations into the matter are continuing.
