August 14, 2026Mpumalanga Community Safety MEC Jackie Macie met with Pienaar community members and stakeholders at KaMashego Community Hall to discuss ways to combat crime in the area.
The engagement focused on serious crimes including house robberies, killings, rape and car hijackings. Traditional leaders, pastors, government representatives and the Community Policing Forum committed to working with the Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison (DCSSL) to improve safety.
MEC Macie urged residents to report crime, including protection rackets and bribery, stressing that community cooperation is essential to bringing criminals to justice.
The CPF requested support with uniforms, torches and transport for patrols. DCSSL said it would consider the requests and continue strengthening crime-prevention efforts in Pienaar.
