November 5, 2025Police in Limpopo have arrested a fourth suspect in connection with the R10 million insurance-related murder, fraud, and money laundering case that has gripped the province. The latest arrest brings new momentum to a complex investigation involving former police officer, Rachel Kutumela, and her family.
According to the South African Police Service (SAPS), the 54-year-old male suspect—who is the brother of the main accused, former Sergeant Kutumela—was apprehended at around 11:00 on Tuesday, 4 November 2025, in Molejie outside Seshego. He is expected to appear before the Polokwane Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 5 November 2025, where he will face charges of murder, fraud, and money laundering.
The other three accused—Rachel Kutumela (43), her sister Anna Shokane (47), and Kutumela’s daughter, Florah Shokane (23)—remain in custody following their bail denial. Their case has been transferred to the Polokwane High Court for further proceedings.
Police have confirmed that investigations into the matter are ongoing.
